David Whitney, parentage unknown, was born 1794, VT, and died 1867, Northfield, VT. He was buried buried Mount Hope Cemetery, Northfield, VT.

He was perhaps the David7 Whitney (Jonathan6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Jonathan6 and Lucy (Woodard) Whitney, who was born 12 Dec 1794, Hartford, VT. He may have been the David Whitney who died 14 Oct 1867, Granville, VT, aged 82 years 11 months 1 day, of apoplexy, born in Pittsfield, VT.

He married, 21 Feb 1819, Pittsfield or Hyde Park, VT, Martha Mathews Safford,[1] daughter of Joseph, Jr., and Delia (Hunter) Safford. She was born 26 Dec 1792, Pittsfield, MA, or Woodstock, VT, and died 22 Aug 1859, Northfield, VT, aged 67 years 5 months 21 days, of typhoid.[2] She is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Northfield, VT.
