David5 Whitney (David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of David4 and Rebecca (Fillebrown) Whitney, was born 25 Sep 1723, Waltham, MA,[1] and died between 7 Nov 1764 and 26 Aug 1765 at Waltham, MA.
David married, before 22 Dec 1751, Watertown, MA, Mary Merriam, daughter of Thomas and Tabitha (Stone) Merriam. She was born 18 Jun 1727, Lexington, MA. She married secondly, 17 Mar 1768, Waltham, MA, Abraham Bemis.[2]
He left a will dated 7 Nov 1764, Waltham, MA: wife Mary; son David (under 21); daughters Mary, Sarah and Ruth Whitney; brother Josiah Whitney appointed executor; witnesses Thomas Wellington, Josiah Brown, and Nathaniel Bridge. On 26 Aug 1765, Waltham, MA, his will was proved. On 3 Sep 1766, Waltham, MA, his inventory was taken by Thomas Wellington, Josiah Brown, and Nathaniel Bridge. On 2 Jun 1767, Waltham, MA, his inventory was exhibited by his widow Mrs. Mary Whitney.

David Whitney, b. 9 Jul 1753, Waltham, MA;[5] d. 1 Mar 1776, Watertown, MA; on 20 Mar 1769, Waltham, MA, he chose Mr. Josiah Whitney as guardian; on 4 Apr 1769, Waltham, MA, Josiah Whitney, yeoman, of Waltham, was appointed guardian of David Whitney, son of David Whitney, deceased, and posted bond with Josiah Brown, yeoman, and John Lawrence, Jr., both of Waltham, as sureties. iii. Sarah Whitney, b. 8 Feb 1756, Waltham, MA;[6] "of Waltham" m. (int. 14 Jul 1776, Chester, MA[7]) 28 Aug 1776, Watertown, MA, or 29 Aug 1776, Waltham, MA, Bezaleel Wright "of Murrayfield".[8] iv. Ruth Whitney, b. 2 Jan 1760, Waltham, MA;[9] "of Waltham" m. 7 Dec 1780, Waltham, MA, Roland P. Blackmer "of Western"[10] [now Warren]. She was named in her father's will (under 21).
