Aaron Stearns8 Whitney (William Henry7, Aaron6, Aaron5, Moses4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of William Henry7 and Clarissa (Wolcott) Whitney, was born 29 Jul 1803, Washington Co., VT, and died 14 Aug 1880, Denmark, NY.

He married, 8 Sep 1831, Hannah Bradish, of Weathersfield, VT. She was born 14 Aug 1802, Weathersfield, VT, and died 23 Apr 1884.

He was born in Washington county, VT, to which county his father had emigrated from Westborough, MA, a few years previous. He was the oldest of eight children. In 1817 he removed with his father to Jefferson county, NY, and settled on a farm in the town of Champion. In 1830 he bought a farm of one hundred acres, partly wild land, and commenced clearing it to make a home for himself. 8 Sep 1831, he married Hannah Bradish, of Weathersfield, VT, and they continued to reside on the farm intil 1846, when he exchanged it for a larger one in the town of Denmark, Lewis County, NY, where he lived with his oldest son (Nathaniel B.) until his death, which occurred 4 Aug 1880. He led a very active life. Besides managing his large farm, he was an extensive stock dealer, buying many thousands of cattle in western New York, Ohio and Canada, and driving them to the eastern markets in New York and Albany. In this business he amassed a considerable fortune. He was strictly honest, and a man of much influence in the community in which he lived, where he was highly respected. He resided Champion, NY.
