Luther Henry10 Whitney (Luther H.9, Edgar8, Luther7, Samuel6, Joseph5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Luther H. and Florence May (Gibeaut) Whitney, was born 11 Mar 1886, Trenton, MO, and died 26 Dec 1960, Trenton, MO.
He married, 30 Nov 1913, Grundy Co., MO, Frances M. Metcalf, daughter of Amos C. and Mary R. (Tate) Metcalf. She was born 3 Sep 1888, Grundy Co., MO, and died 31 Jan 1971, Trenton, MO. Her grandfather, William Metcalf, was one of the early settlers of Grundy County. Settling in 1838, an unorganized territory from Livingston County, Mo north to the Iowa state line.
They lived and farmed most all their married lives in Grundy County, except for a short time in Mercer County, MO. Members of the Edinburg Baptist Church and the IOOF and Rebakah Lodge's at Edinburg. They retired from their farm south of Edinburg in February of 1959 moving into Trenton.
