He married, 3 Jan 1895, Winchendon, MA, Grace Jeannette10 Whitney.[2] She was born 31 Aug 1875, Phillipston, MA, and died after 1920.

Marion G. Whitney, b. 3 Jan 1906, Westminster, MA;[6] d. 2 Mar 1906, Westminster, MA, aged 1 month 29 days, of pneumonia.[7] v. Joseph James Whitney, b. 24 Jan 1910, Westminster, MA;[8] d. 20 Jun 1910, Westminster, MA, aged 4 months 27 days, of pyelo nephritis due to post operative calastomy for imperforate rectum.[9]
