Rachel Farnsworth (Thomas Farnsworth, Mary Pierce, Mary³ Whitney, Joshua², John¹), daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Davis) Farnsworth, was born 9 Sep 1770, New Ipswich,NH, and died 20 Mar 1857, Dover, IL. She was buried in Pioneer Cemetery, Dover, IL.^[1]

She married, 16 Sep 1790, Halstead, NH, Simon Abel (Abell), son of Eliphalet and Lydia (Williams) Abell. She was born 2 Oct 1767, Lebanon, CT, and died 20 Oct 1851, Dover, IL.

i.	Lydia Abel, b. 11 Sept 1799, Williamstown, VT; d. 30 Jan 1861 Dover, IL; m. 20 Dec 1821, Danford Steele.
