John Pratt - his children Henry A., who married Mary Frances Lawrence, d. Wm. L. he was the partner of Asa Holbrook D. 1809 & who was brother of Cyrus and who both married Winship.

2. Daniel2 Shays (Patrick1) was born about 1747 in the vicinity of Hopkinton, Mass., where his father was farming at Saddle Hill, and died at Sparta, N.Y., 25 or 29 Sept. 1825, aged 78 years. Temple's History of Framingham (1887) seems to be the undocumented original source for the alleged first marriage of Daniel Shays to a widow Eunice Hayden. This is repeated in DAR Lineage Books 59:65; 135:24. He did marry (intentions at Brookline, Mass., 18 July 1772 [Brookfield VRs, 405]) Abigail Gilbert, who was born 16 June 1748, daughter of Jonathan and Abigail (Olds) Gilbert. According to tradition they were married in the kitchen of Daniel Gilbert's house in North Brookfield. He was no relation. [snip] He married second at Sparta, near Dansville, N.Y., 1 April 1815 Rhoda (Coller) Havens, the widow of Darling Havens, by whom she had three children. She married thirdly, as the widow of the "late celebrated Gen. Shays," at Sparta, 20 May 1829 Zachariah Buskirk (Fred Q. Bowman, 10,000 Vital Records of Western New York, 1809-1850 [Baltimore, 1985], Geneva Gazette, item 1354). She died intestate 14 Jan. 1858. [snip]

  1. Lucy, b. ca 1775 (gave her age as 75 in the federal census of 3 Oct. 1850); d. 20 July 1853, aged 78; bur. Commerce Village Cem., Commerce Twp., Oakland Co., Mich. (Cemetery Records of Oakland County, Michigan, 2:77); m. (1) at Pelham, Mass., 13 Oct. 1795 (int. at Greenwich, Mass., 13 Aug. 179-, he listed of New Salem, and she of Greenwich) Bezaleel Whitney. They were at Ogden, now Monroe Co., N.Y., before 1817; m. (2) 12 Oct. 1835 John Hodge, Sr., of Commerce Twp., Oakland Co., Mich., b. 1772. His son John Hodge, Jr., was the justice of the peace officiating (Oakland County Marriage Records 1827-1860, 1:102). He was an original member of the Regular Baptist Church of Commerce, organized 27 June 1839 (Oakland County, Michigan, History and Biography, 1817-1877 [1877], 162). John P. Hodge received invalid pension from 1843 to 1857 (Michigan Revolutionary Payments [Soldiers], K:361). Both were living at the time the census was taken 3 Oct. 1850.

    3. Susan, b. 15 June 1802; d. 9 June 1852 (ibid., 22); m. (1) Amos Fincher, son of Jesse and Abigail (Jenks) Fincher; m. (2) in New York, 22 May 1825 Joseph Washington Lane, b. 1795, d. 25 March 1851, son of Gorham and Rebecca (Jones) Lane.
