William H.⁸ Whitney (Josiah Francis⁷, Silas⁶, Josiah⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Josiah Francis⁷ and Mary (Moore) Whitney, was born 25 Mar 1859, ME, and died 26 Nov 1897.

He married, 10 Jun 1883, ME, Eva Lavinia Longley,^[1] daughter of Eli and Lucy E. (-----) Longley. She was born about 1855, Bingham, ME, and died after 1940. She married secondly, 29 Nov 1904, Anson or Solon, ME, Edmond Gould.^[2] She married thirdly (using her maiden name), 5 Nov 1910, Lowell or Solon, ME, Orrick H. Wakefield.^[3]

i.	Bernice M.9 Whitney, b. 31 July 1895, ME; d. 20 Apr 1991, Winchester, MA;[4] unmarried.
