Error on uploading file

Robert, I am getting this error when uploading a picture of Charles Mayo Whitney. "The upload directory (public) is not writable by the webserver." It is less than 1 MB. Thanks for any advice.

WIKI problems

Thanks Robert. I had no idea Wiki had so many problems. I thot it was so well established it would be faultless. I will hopefully be happy until it gets fixed if the edit function is working.

Re: Eliza (Patterson) Whitney

That record does look promising but I believe she is living in Hollis, York, Maine in 1860 with her daughter. I also think her daughter is working for a family in Buxton, York, Maine in 1870 as Lizzie J. Whitney but I haven't linked the census record as I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for looking further for records of Eliza. I would love to know the fate of these two!

re: Eliza (Patterson) Whitney II

Hard to say what happened with this family. In 1855 Eliza and Elizabeth are living as paupers in Acton. I have assumed that Jonathan left them (can't find him in the 1855 census) and then changed his name to Joseph before remarrying, effectively making him a bigamist. Then she moved back to her home county in Maine. I've never looked for divorce records and wouldn't know where to start, really.

Charlotte Wilber

The marriage of George M. "Whiting" and Charlotte Wilber was a good find, thank you!

Solomon Whitney

Robert,

While researching an unknown Whitney family, I believe I uncovered some additional information for Whitney, Solomon (c1777-1864). There is a marriage record for "Solomon Whitney & Mergery Walker, m. 2 Sep 1802, Hopkinton, Merrimack Co., NH" that I believe is for this family. Also, there is a Whitney, Isaac (1747-a1800) family in Henniker, NH which had a son Solomon born 25 Nov 1776, Stow, MA. Hopkinton is about 9 miles from Henniker. Do you think we have a match?
