Hiram⁶ Whitney (Henry⁵, Isaac⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Henry⁵ and Abigail (Walker) Whitney, was born 8 Sep 1815, Chesterville, ME, and died 6 Jul 1870, Melrose, MA.

He married, 22 Mar 1842, Boston, MA, Susan P. Lunt, daughter of Joshua and Abigail (Freese) Lunt. She was born 10 Jul 1814, Stillwater, ME, and died 1 Dec 1895, Lowell, MA, aged 81 years 4 months 21 days, of senile anaemia.^[1]

He was a merchant. He resided Boston and Melrose, MA.
