Marcus Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1812, NY, and died after 1880, MI.

He married, 22 Dec 1839, Fayette Co., IL, Vashti Ellen Sapp,[1] daughter of Joseph Marlin and Elizabeth (Starner) Sapp. She was born about 1819, Knox Co., OH, and died about 1845, IL.

He married secondly, before 1854, Amanda -----. She was born about 1820, NY, and died between 1860 and 1870.

He married thirdly, 16 Sep 1871, Delhi, MI, Malinda Florence.[2] She was born about 1825, NY, and died after 1880.
