William Perse6 Whitney (Micah5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Micah5 and Hannah (Cobb) Whitney, was born 3 May 1783, Gorham, ME, and died 30 Dec 1865, Cortland, IL. He is buried in the Ohio Grove Cemetery, Cortland, IL.

He married firstly, about 1805, Sarah Frank "of Gray". She was born 25 Jan 1789, Gray, ME and died 20 Aug 1815, Phillips, ME.

He married secondly, 27 Oct 1823, Phillips, ME, Nancy I. Carlton. She was born 30 Nov 1806, Plantation E, ME, and died either 3 Jan 1902, Marysville, KS, or 20 Nov 1902, Cortland, IL.

He resided Phillips, ME.
