Nelson⁸ Whitney (Ethan⁷, Hiram⁶, Henry⁵, Isaac⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Ethan⁷ and Betsey Mellen (Green) Whitney, was born 5 May 1811, Milford, MA,^[1] and died 17 Oct 1882, Bellingham, MA.

He married, 6 Apr 1836, Millbury, MA, Ruth Morse Guild "both of Medway".^[2] She was born 16 May 1813, and died 25 Nov 1893, Bellingham, MA.

He was a boot and shoe maker. He resided Milford and Millbury, MA.
