Family:Whitney, Elijah (1754-1834)

Elijah⁵ Whitney (Abraham⁴, Isaiah³, Thomas², John¹), son of Abraham⁴ and Sarah⁵ (Whitney) Whitney,^[1] was born 15 Feb 1754, Harvard, MA, and died 6 Jan 1834, Bolton, MA, aged 79 years.

He married 14 Apr 1772, Bolton, MA, Sarah Stearns, daughter of Benjamin and Dinah (Wheeler) Stearns. She was born 29 Dec 1751, Bolton, MA, and died 3 Oct 1812, Bolton, MA, aged 59 years.

He was a farmer. In 1779 he purchased a farm and settled in Bolton, MA, where his wife died.

He resided Bolton and Lancaster, MA.

ii.	Sarah Whitney, b. 13 Jul 1774; married 15 Dec 1797, James Townsend, Jr., of Bolton, Massachusetts. Ch.: Hannah, James, Nancy W., Samuel, Sarah (m. Charles A. Lyman), Lucinda, and Alfred.
iii.	Dinah Whitney, b. 23 Sep 1776; m. 27 Nov 1800, Benjamin W. Worcester of Bolton, Massachusetts. Ch.: Daniel, Arad, Luke, Samuel, Alice, Horace, and an infant child.
iv.	Samuel Whitney, b. 10 Sep 1778; m. Lucy Handley.
v.	Elijah Whitney, b. 25 Feb 1781; resided Charlestown, MA, d. 18 May 1866.
vi.	Daniel Whitney, b. 10 Feb 1783; d. bef. 1860.
vii.	Abraham Whitney, b. 17 Apr 1785; resided Shirley, MA.
viii.	Alice Whitney, b. 1 Sep 1787; d. 9 May 1860, Bolton, MA, aged 72 years, unmarried. R. M. Priest was administrator of her estate, 2 Apr 1861. In the report is mentioned brothers Samuel, Elijah, and Abraham, sisters Sophia Fleming, Nancy Priest, Elizabeth Bailey, Sarah Townsend, and Dinah Worcester.
ix.	Sophia Whitney, b. 20 Nov 1789; m. 1 Dec 1817, Tewksbury, MA, Patrick Flemings.
x.	Nancy Whitney, b. 4 Aug 1792; m. 20 Oct 1814, Charles Priest, of Harvard, MA.
