Prof. Harry E.9 Whitney (Charles Marsh8, Edward Winslow7, Samuel Winslow6, Ephraim5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Charles Marsh8 and Delia Minerva (Safford) Whitney; born Fort Covington, New York, Sept 4, 1851; married at Poughkeepsie, New York, 3 Aug 1881, Mary Van Viliet, born Sept. 4, 1851.

Harry Edward Whitney, born at Fort Covington, N. Y., removed to Bangor 1855; to La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 1857. Entered Shattuck school, Faribault, Minnesota, graduating in 1871 as valedictorian of class. Entered Trinity college, Hartford, Connecticut, Sept., 1871, graduating in June, 1874. Member of the Psi Upsilon, Phi Beta Kappa societies. Entered Shattuck School as professor of Latin and German, which position he has held for twenty successive years. Has been quite prominent in Masonic circles, now (1894) holding the position of V. E. Dep. Grand Commander of Minnesota, Knights Templar. Is a Democrat in politics and member of the Episcopal church; resided Faribault, Minnesota.
