Nathaniel Whitney, parentage unknown, was born 7 Feb 1800, ME and died 1838.

He married, 5 May 1827, in the area of Scarborough, ME, Charlotte Cook. She was born 16 Feb 1802, ME and died 22 Jul 1850, Searsport, ME. She was formerly of Portland, and was buried Portland, ME.[1]

Children of Nathaniel and Charlotte (Cook) Whitney (order uncertain, perhaps incomplete):

i. Charles H. Whitney, b. 15 Sep 1828,[2] ME; m.(1) Hannah P. Porter; m.(2) Caroline Nichols.
ii. Harriet Frances Whitney, b. 25 Jul 1831, ME, m. 18 Dec 1852, Belfast, ME, Jacob Wesley Coombs;[3] d. Oct 1893.
iii. Mary Caroline Whitney, b. ca. 1834, ME; d. 24 Feb 1915, age 83; m. 10 May 1851, Boston, MA, Luther Augustine Coombs, b. ca. 1829, Belfast, ME, son of Luther Coombs.[4]
iv. John Whitney, d. infancy.
