Hiram H.6 Whitney (Henry5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Henry5 and Abigail (Walker) Whitney, was born 8 Sep 1815, Chesterville, ME, and died 6 Jul 1870, Melrose, MA.

He married, 22 Mar 1842, Boston, MA, or 21 Mar 1843, Boston, MA, Susan P. Lunt,[1] daughter of Joshua and Abigail (Freese) Lunt. She was born 10 Jul 1814, Stillwater, ME, and died 1 Dec 1895, Lowell, MA, aged 81 years 4 months 21 days, of senile anaemia.[2]

He was a merchant. He resided Boston and Melrose, MA.

i. Edward Hiram7 Whitney, b. 22 Jan 1845, MA; m. Emma L. Williams.
ii. Ella M. Whitney, b. ca. 1847, MA; m. before 1877, Francis W. Chadbourne; resided 35 W. Vernon Street, Lowell, MA.
iii. Charles Sumner Whitney, b. 31 May 1856, MA; resided Miles City, MT.
