Cornelius6 Whitney (William5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of William5 and Arcoucher (Dutcher) Whitney, was born 31 Dec 1753, Salisbury, CT, and died 16 Nov 1829, Canaan, CT.

He married 9 Apr 1778, Hannah Green. Some sources call her "Hetty" instead of "Hannah", but she was Hannah in her pension application and in the 1840 census. She was born about 1759 and died between 1840 and 1850. After his death she lived at Sheffield, MA.

"Cornelius, CT Line, Hannah, W14136, sol d 16 Nov 1829, wid appl 7 Mar 1837 at Sheffield in Berkshire Co MA aged 77, wid stated sol had d at Canaan in Litchfield Co CT, sol & wid had m 9 Apr 1778.[1]

He was in the Revolutionary war, and in 1809 sold land in Sheffield. He resided Canaan, CT, and Sheffield, MA.
